Opening Serial Port Is Failed Skybox Tewksbury
The protocol for the RS232 port has already been decoded. Unfortunately it only sends information and doesn't receive control commands. The Sky Gnome only receives data via the RS232 port and sends commands via the RF2 link.Full details can be found hereThey also supply a usb to rf2 device that allows you to control the sky box from a PC. I haven't tried this as I control the sky box via infra red from my home control system using Mainlobby and TvLobby and a couple of custom plugins on touch screens all around the house. There is a custom plugin being written at the moment to populate the interface with the current status of the box from the details output on the RS232 port, this is still in Alpha development at the moment. See pic below:Steve.
Click Start 13. Type Tag Scanner in Search Bar 14. Right click Tag Scanner 15. Click Properties 16. Click Compatibility Tab on new window 17. Under Compatibility Mode Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: 18. Under Compatibility Mode Select Windows 7 from drop down 19.

Click to expand.Steve,Graham (greyt) is writing the plugin, he sent me a proof of concept version where in the setup of the plugin you can see the variables being sent from the sky box, but it doesn't yet populate variables. Development had stopped until he managed to get his box connected by serial over cat5 (50m between htpc and sky box!). I will have to check with him to see if he made any progress last weekend.I have been beta testing ML3 for a while now, I'm really impressed with it.Steve. Create a new folder on the USB Stick and name the folder x5 you can name the folder anything you wish3. Now place a copy of KDP9000EHD.bin in the x5 folderYou do not even need a folder for this to work, you can just transfer the files to the USB Stick, just make sure there are no other files on the USB Stick4. Make sure the receiver is Powered OFF5. Insert the USB Stick into the front USB port on the receiver6. Now you can turn the receivers Power ON7. Quickly press any button on the front panel I find it easier to press the Power buttonkeep pressing the button until you see LOAd shown on the front panel, then you can release the button.8.
This should then fix basic problems regarding booting up, as the OpenBox X5 will be booted from the USB.9. Once the OpenBox X5 has booted up correctly, but you still find the problem persists, then you should perform the following:Menu - System Setup click S/W Upgrade click Upgrade By Network or Upgrade By USB. Registered: Posts: 3,446Posted Go to the sites yojia tech listed above. There are files etc there. Probably get good info there. I can't go there now to tell you yes or no.3 Edison OS mini's, 3 Openbox S10s, 2 Openbox S9's, NFusion HD, 2 Prof 7500's, Genpix Skywalker 1, 2 Optibox Anacondas, Azbox me, Azbox minime, 2 Jynxboxes, ismart m100, izzibox, TBS 6982, Vigica C60s, Optibox Raptor, azbox Bravissimo, TBS 5922SE, TBS 5980 (Broke), and TBS 6902.36' KU Dish Linear, 10 ft prime focus Mesh, 7.5ft prime focus mesh dish C and KU.7 Stationary KU dishes.
FellowMembers, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about postingeverything perfect.
Different receivers and LNB's will give youdifferent Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cardsand USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information thatothers may need. It is not Required to post everything that othersmay need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share thefind.
We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and trythe various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we geta lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver,as that information might help others as well.We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!Thank Youfor Visiting GOFASTMOTORSPORTS.com - Keep Your Eyes on the Sky andthe Track!
